Natural history and scientific society. We meet for talks on the second Tuesday of each month from September to March at 7:30 pm in Tain Parish Church Hall.
TDFC was founded in 1980. We aim to encourage interest in natural history in this area by surveying and recording animals and plants and helping projects organised by conservation organisations. As well as arranging a series of lectures over the winter we organise field trips throughout the year. In most years we have a weekend field trip to and area of natural history interest in the north of Scotland.
Most winter lectures are on topics about, or related to, the natural history of the Highlands. The programme covers many branches of natural history and attempts to get a balance between the more popular topics of birds, mammals and plants and less well-known aspects of the Highland wildlife.
Membership is open to anyone interested in the clubs aims.
Details of the current programme can be found on our website and Facebook page.
